Crashworthiness Design of AnsaldoBreda High Speed Train (TSI requirements for high speed train)

Abstract

This work describes the methodology used to demonstrate the compliance of the new ANSALDOBREDA High Speed Train in order to respect the TSI regulations about the crashworthiness design. Starting from the main idea of the train configuration, the work illustrates all the passages needed to validate the final calculations of the train rake. All the absorber devices have been tested separately and finally verified with the front cab crash test. The final calculations have been conducted with calibration of all absorbers considering a comparison between tests and simulations.
