Abstract

This paper deals with a procedure for computing steady turbulent reacting flows in combustors. The activity regards the development of a Lean-Burn innovative injection system (PERM), developed by University of Karlsruhe and AVIO for medium OPR. The CFD model is based on the tubular test rig employed at ONERA Laboratory (Fr). Experimental measurements and CFD results of gas temperature and pollutant emissions are compared at two operating points in the medium pressure range to verify the model assumptions. Such procedure is currently employed in the performance evaluation of the annular combustor developed in the frame of the EU funded research programme NEWAC.
