To reduce cost and time during the product development, it is important to define the optimum design at early stage. Therefore a specific optimizing tool (modeFRONTIER) was deployed in addition to standard development methods.
After the first loop of the development phase of a high pressure diesel injector, modeFRONTIER was applied to increase the development efficiency. Our target was to realize a better performance of the injector concerning switch leakage, pressure drop, linearity of injection quantity over injection time (Ti-map) and injector reaction time.
In the high pressure pump optimization, the pressure wave in low pressure part was investigated and reduced.
Due to this method we were able to provide a better performance of the components.
The development time and cost were reduced compared to our standard procedure. |
